There seems to be no symptoms that requires urgent attention. It appears sufficient to monitor the situation at home, and take your child to the hospital during regular hours.

Child’s Symptoms

  •
However, if symptoms change, please visit an emergency clinic. During holidays and New Years break, visit the emergency clinic the next day.

Precautions when giving medicine during a fever

  • If you use an antipyretic, use acetaminophen.

(Product name: Caronal, Pyrinazine, Alpiny, Anhiba etc.)
    * Even if fever is present, refrain from using antipyretic drugs if your child seems well or if the fever is below 38.0-38.5 ℃.

Nursing points during fever

  • Adjust clothing and blankets as necessary to keep your child warm during fever chills, or cool when your child feels too warm then fever breaks.
  • If your child feels comfortable, keep your child cool by using an ice pillow or ice pack on the head.
  • As there will be a lot of sweating, change your child’s clothes frequently.
  • Have your child drink liquids frequently to prevent dehydration.

At your visit, let your doctor know

  • “From when” “how high of a fever” “for how long” did it last?
  • If you have given any medicine, take a medication handbook so that you can tell the type.
